Is The Republican Party A Cult?

We dug up an earlier story about the GOP as a cult and wonder if they have something going there.

Let's take a peek...

"5 Reasons the Republican Party Might Be a Cult."

"Are Republicans and many conservatives in a cult? The thought arose from a letter to the editor of the Scranton Times-Tribune by Mr. William Lewis, an 89-year-old World War II veteran:

"The situation in our country right now makes me wonder what my two close friends would think of what has become of this great country -- if they are still alive.

"People are prevented from voting through restrictive laws. Money has purchased the soul of the country. Veterans with disabilities beg for money on television. Members of Congress have been bought and paid for and the Supreme Court is under suspicion.."

The "Five Reasons" are fear, conformity, modifying existing religion, a powerful leadership, and avoidance of strangers and unbelievers.

Let's see what's going on today to justify such a telling charge - starting with this Conservative check list...

...and speaking of that last item, "Women are a 'Lesser Cut of Meat,'" one of their less-powerful leaders has that figured out.

Here's a meme that helps explain why Conservatism is a cult - because what is the GOP but a club for Conservatives - with a healthy dose of the Fear Factor built in...

...then there's the "powerful leadership"...

...and "modifying existing religion"...

...and cultish "conformity"...

...and "avoidance of strangers."

And here is what the Cult of Conservatism has in story for us, starting with this "powerful leader" on the left...

...along with these two guys.

Cults all have imaginary enemies too, like these terrorists.

The Conservative Cultists lie incessantly...

...because the truth hurts...

...especially when the lies catch up to them, like these guys...

...AND their now-deposed "powerful cult leader."

They also claim that God is on their side...

...and they also have values outside the mainstream of their fellow citizens...

...and outside the law, of course.

And the end result when the Conservative Cult is in charge? Ignorance of anything outside of the cult.

So don't you think it's time that someone called these Conservative Cultists out? We do too...

********************

In a participatory democracy, it's important for the Conservative Cult to suppress the vote, intimidate the voters, misinform them, and steal their votes because most voters frown upon lying, stealing, and killing.

Naturally, this is not only anti-American but it's also the kind of criminal acts that distinguish the Conservative Cult from real political parties.

So we have to ask - Isn't it WAY past time to...

...criminalize Conservatism?

"Conservatism discards Prescription, shrinks from Principle,
disavows Progress; having rejected all respect for antiquity, it
offers no redress for the present, and makes no preparation for the
 future."

Benjamin Disraeli.
