Why Conservatives HAVE to lie.

Before we start, here's a short list of prevarications by your favorite Cons...

"18 Outrageous Conservative Quotes."

"Republican Congressman Joe Wilson made a name for himself Wednesday night by shouting “You lie!” during President Obama’s health-care speech to Congress, but he’s hardly the first conservative to spark controversy with a crazy statement. In his new book, Republican Gomorrah, Daily Beast columnist Max Blumenthal presented a compendium of quotes from influential right-wingers.

"'[America has to import so many workers because] for the last 35 years we have aborted more than a million people who would have been in our workforce.'
—former Gov. Mike Huckabee during the 2008 presidential race

"'Twelve million illegal immigrants later, we are now living in a nation that is beset by people who are suicidal maniacs and want to kill countless innocent men, women, and children around the world.'
—former Sen. Fred Thompson during the 2008 presidential race

"Read an excerpt from Blumenthal’s Republican Gomorrah.

"'Our gays are more macho than their straights.'
—Ann Coulter, commenting in 2005 on Jeff Gannon, the conservative plant in the White House press corps who turned out to be a male escort.

"'It’s not uncommon to meet pastors’ wives who really let themselves go.'

—Minister Mark Driscoll of the Mars Hill Church of Seattle, defending the homosexual escapades of Rev. Ted Haggard in 2006

"'I called to buy some meth, but I threw it away.'

—Rev. Ted Haggard, when details began to emerge about his visits to a male prostitute, in 2006..."

As the house organ of the GOP, just like Pravda worked for the USSR, Faux News got caught lying again...and again and again.

"PolitiFact On The New Improved Fox News: Now With Even More Lies."

Fox News PolitiFact

"According to PolitiFact, the current results breakdown like this:

  • At Fox 61% of the claims have been rated Mostly False or worse.
  • At MSNBC 44% of the claims have received a rating of Mostly False or worse.
  • At CNN 20% of the claims have received a rating of Mostly False or worse.

"The change from their last analysis in September of 2014 shows that both CNN and MSNBC have improved their record, while Fox has sunk deeper into the abyss of dishonesty. Although, from Fox’s perspective that would be regarded as an improvement since it is their intention to deceive.

"Some of the types of stories that contributed to Fox’s downward spiral include the ludicrous assertion that Birmingham, England was a totally Muslim city that no one else can enter, and that France has 741 no-go zones itself..."

But if you want to hear their latest whopper, here's a gigantic lie from their last presidential candidate. (It's okay, though - because he wants to be our president.)

"Mitt Romney Wants You to Believe He’s an Anti-Poverty Warrior Now (Video)."

"Speaking at the RNC winter meeting on Friday, Mitt Romney attempted to redefine himself as a champion of the poor, garnering cheers and applause from the audience.

"'We have to lift people out of poverty,' he said.  'We’re an abundant nation, we have the resources and the capacity intellectually, mentally, financially to lift people out of poverty.'

"This stands in stark contrast to his infamous dismissal of '47 percent' of the population as people he didn’t worry about because his 'job is not to worry about those people — I’ll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.'

"That was the tone of his entire campaign in 2012, suggesting that somehow only those with no ambition are trapped in poverty.  He supported the Ryan budget proposals which would have made deep cuts in all safety net programs for the poor, from SNAP benefits and Medicaid to Social Security and Medicare.

"But that was the old Mitt. The new Mitt wants to stand up for the middle class and the poor.  He wants to fight income inequality and stagnating wages which have decimated the middle class and driven more people into poverty..."

Using the Gish Gallop just gets in the way of the facts...

With Conservatism, there are the old-style McCarthy lies...

...and then there are the new lies, McCarthy-style!

And Conservatives are PROUD of their lying ways!

Finally, getting back to our original question: Why do the Cons HAVE to lie?

Yup, because that's part of their six-pronged strategy.

And lies seem to have worked out well in attracting the typical Conservative Sheeplets to their cause...

********************

The reasons that Conservatism is always about lies?  Because in a participatory democracy when Conservatism is really all about the dream that the rich should rule the rest of us, lying is the only recourse if a Conservative wants to win an election.

It's easy to figure out when the Cons are lying, and it's not just when they open their mouths - anything they say and do has to do with the fact that they are representing the greediest and wealthiest among us.

When they speak about anything else, it's all about proselytizing the meanest and dumbest among us.

So just follow the money.

The Revolution was fought to keep the powerful from ruling us, and if Conservatism is all about some kind of New American Age of Feudalism, it's past time to...

...criminalize Conservatism!

"Hypocrisy is a value that I think has been embraced by the Republican Party.
We get lectured by people all day long about moral values by people who have
their own moral shortcomings."
