A Funny Thing Happened To Fox News The Other Day...

A Funny Thing Happened To Fox News The Other Day, but not so funny to Fox News...

Fox News is crying the blues, because, as of Saturday evening, Fox News and Fox Business are no longer part of the Dish Network channel lineup. The two parties could not reach an agreement on a new contract to carry the channels, so the Fox signal went black on the satellite provider.

"Dish created a website, DishStandsForYou.com, which explains to subscribers what happened. The site says,

"Fox removed Fox News and Fox Business, using these channels as leverage to increase the rates we pay for other channels that are not included in this contract."
"Warren Schlichting, DISH senior vice president of programming, explains further:
"It’s like we’re about to close on a house and the realtor is trying to make us buy a new car as well. Fox blacked out two of its news channels, using them as leverage to triple rates on sports and entertainment channels that are not in this contract."

"Moves of this sort have been a common occurrence with Dish over the years, as the satellite provider attempts to contain costs for customers. Fox is just the most recent of several networks to pull their signal from Dish, as they attempt to extort more money from the company..."

Of course, Fox is feverishly negotiating with Dish Network...

"According to Fox Executive Vice President of Distribution Tim Carry, contract talks have broken off and nothing is happening, depriving Dish’s 14 million subscribers of Fox News’ 'fair and balanced' approach to current event coverage.

"'Our phone line is open, we’re willing to talk,' Carry said. 'Am I negotiating right now? I’m not...'"

There are some who said Fox News had it coming...

"Fox Affiliate Deceptively Edits Protest Footage To Show Protesters Chanting 'Kill A Cop.'"

"Baltimore news station Fox45 ran a story Sunday night attacking protests against police brutality and racial disparity by running deceptively edited footage to suggest protesters were chanting “kill a cop” during a demonstration. On Monday, Gawker looked into the tape and found that the station had cut off a chant and misinterpreted the words to make it seem to the viewers like a protest leader was saying those words during a protest gathering in Washington, D.C. earlier this month. Actually, C-SPAN had captured footage of the protesters chanting a much different phrase..."

Although Fox was just following good journalistic principles...

And Fox believes in the truth...

...because the truth shall set you free.

AND they've been around a long, long time...

...AND they broadcast their "news" to a select group of people...

...with all the news that's fit to air!

And if you have the time, don't bother with this...

...when you can watch THIS now!

"Brave New Films has put Robert Greenwald’s anti-Fox News documentary Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism online in its entirety.

"The film charts the rise of Fox News, outlining the marketing-based techniques that make the channel such “compelling” viewing — the 'Fox News Alert,' the blurring of journalism and commentary, and the deceptive use of the chyron, i.e. the lower third of the viewing area on a typical television screen.

"In addition to that, the film also reviews Fox New’s coverage both of the 2000 presidential election and the run-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, demonstrating how the network successfully established the talking points used by those in the so-called 'liberal media.'

"Fox News responded to the film first by claiming that director Greenwald had engaged in serial copyright infringement when he used clips from Fox News programs, then by attacking the reputations of all the former Fox News employees who testified to their experiences at the network in the film.

As we know, Fox News has a way with words...

So petition Dish to restore Fox News, because Fox is so important for democracy...

When Conservatism is criminalized Fox News will not be allowed to broadcast all of its lies and hate.

And when our airwaves are freed from all the hate that Fox News and traitorous hacks like Limbaugh spew forth every day, the country and the world will be better off for it.

So remember this every single time Fox News shares its baldfaced lies with your family, Freedom of Speech does NOT mean the Freedom To Kill Democracy, and as the spokesman for the Republican Party, Fox News IS a democracy killer. (Joyce, Jnr.)

"America was certainly safe between 2000 and 2008. I don't remember any
attacks on American soil during that period of time."
