Boiled, Baked, Or Drowned, Climate Deniers Are Preparing Us For Armageddon

Reuters reported on another aspect of man-made climate change and we're in BIG trouble...

"Greenhouse Gas Levels In Atmosphere Surged To New High In 2013, World Meteorological Organization Reports."

"GENEVA, Sept 9 (Reuters) - Atmospheric volumes of greenhouse gas hit a record in 2013 as carbon dioxide concentrations grew at the fastest rate since reliable global records began, the World Meteorological Organization said on Tuesday.

"'We know without any doubt that our climate is changing and our weather is becoming more extreme due to human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels,' said WMO Secretary-General Michel Jarraud in a statement accompanying the WMO's annual Greenhouse Gas Bulletin.

"'Past, present and future CO2 emissions will have a cumulative impact on both global warming and ocean acidification. The laws of physics are non-negotiable,' Jarraud said. 'We are running out of time...'"

Scientists know what's happening...

"Scientific Consensus: "A long list of individual scientists and scientific societies, including the National Academy of Sciences, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have released statements in recent years affirming a growing consensus that the globe is warming and human activity is to blame."

But Conservatives don't know...or at least they're pretending they don't know.

And some aren't even afraid to show off their scientific knowledge...

"Carbon dioxide is not a harmful gas; it is a harmless gas ... And yet we're being told that we have to reduce this natural substance and reduce the American standard of living to create an arbitrary reduction in something that is naturally occurring in the Earth."

Just think, one of our Conservative scientists could be our next president...

"Paul's new favorite talking point treats climate change like some funny punch line -- truth (and experts) be damned.

"Rand Paul has a habit of announcing that Hillary Clinton is not qualified, or is disqualified, from ever holding any sort of high office, to include the presidency. He says this over and over, time and again, and each time he says it he earns himself a cascade of headlines. Typically, the reason he offers for Hillary’s disqualification is 'Benghazi,' and this makes conservatives nod in solemn agreement because to them, Benghazi was the worst national security failure in the history of America.

"Last week, however, he put a new spin on this old standby of his. On Thursday evening, Hillary Clinton spoke at a clean energy conference in Las Vegas and described the looming catastrophes promised by unchecked climate change as 'the most consequential, urgent, sweeping collection of challenges we face.' This remark, according to Rand Paul, also disqualifies Clinton from the presidency. 'For her to be out there saying that the biggest threat to our safety and to our well-being is climate change, I think, goes to the heart of the matter of whether or not she has the wisdom to lead the country,' he said on Fox News, 'which I think it’s obvious that she doesn’t...'"

He sure sounds upset at something Mrs. Clinton said...

"Hillary Clinton Lambastes Climate Change Deniers."

"Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blasted climate change deniers in a Thursday speech at the National Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas.

"Clinton told the audience that climate change is 'the most consequential, urgent, sweeping collection of challenges we face as a nation and a world.'

"'The data is unforgiving. No matter what the deniers try to assert. Sea levels are rising. Ice caps are melting. Storms, droughts and wildfires are wreaking havoc,' she noted...'"

The environment just isn't the Conservatives' cup of tea (pun intended)...

"Oh, sure... I was trying to make to make a point that we shouldn't be afraid to debate the left, even on the environment. That was obviously misconstrued, and that's one of the things I probably won't do again." (On WGIR-AM in New Hampshire on July 26, 2011, when host Paul Westcott asked if he regretted appearing in a 2006 television ad with then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the 'We Can Solve It' campaign against global warming.)

So what IS the answer to the coming collapse of our environment?

"The Climate March: Will It Be a Call to Arms For the Earth, Or Are More Radical Actions Needed?"

"On September 21, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to march in New York and other cities across the globe to pressure world leaders to take more aggressive action on global warming. The organizers of the  People's Climate March believe it will be one of the biggest social-change marches in history.

"The march precedes a United Nations Climate Summit — a meeting of world leaders in New York — by two days. Ban Ki-moon, the U.N. Secretary General has said he hopes the summit will inject momentum in reaching a global deal on greatly reducing greenhouse gas emissions by the end of 2015, when leaders will convene again in Paris.

"Organizers think the demonstration will send a message to the assembled world powers that swift and dynamic action must be taken (China and India will not be represented).

"But not everyone in the enviornmental and progressive movement thinks the organized march is the best way to create the needed social change. Chris Hedges, the activist journalist who writes for the news website Truthdig, likens the rally, which will be nowhere near the United Nations building, to a big 'climate-change street fair' and laments that anyone can join. This means organizations such as the Climate Group and the Environmental Defense Fund, which include chemical, banking and oil interests among their members and supporters, will be represented at the march..."

But will the Conservatives LET us do anything about our coming Armageddon?  Guess what Conservative presidential contender said this:

"I think there are a substantial number of scientists who have manipulated data so that they will have dollars rolling in to their projects. I think we're seeing it almost weekly or even daily, scientists who are coming forward and questioning the original idea that man-made global warming is what is causing the climate to change."

When we reach the tipping point and the earth's destruction from man-made climate change is imminent, will we be chasing down the deniers and polluters who put us in this mess in the first place?

What will we say to our children when they ask us why we didn't DO SOMETHING?

I'd like to think that we stopped the Conservatives dead in their tracks by criminalizing their activities and putting them behind bars where they can preach their hatred and lies to their fellow Cons (pun still intended).

"I don't believe ... global warming is real. Do we have climate change? Yes. Is it a crisis?
No. ... Because the science, the real science, doesn't say that we have any major crisis or
threat when it comes to climate change."
