Are Conservatives Crazy Or Stupid? You Decide...

It has often been said, especially by us, that the GOP is made up of a few smart people and a whole lot of stupid one.

But are they really that stupid? In our 185th post on the subject of Conservative stupidity, aka, "Conservatives Are Stupid," we also wonder if they aren't a bit short of sanity too.

In the spirit of the quote from Albert Einsten above, we present the latest ploy by the Cons...

"Tears Of Sisyphus: Republicans Resurrect ACORN, Only To Murder It. Again."

"WASHINGTON -- Great empires rise and fall, rise again. Byzantium survives in splendor as Rome collapses before the barbarian hordes.

"So it has been with ACORN. So it shall be.

"Fear not, America. House Republicans have resumed their war on the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, an anti-poverty nonprofit staffed by low-income people, a scant 4 1/2 years after the organization officially folded.

"Truth be told, there are no signs of a resurgent ACORN. There have been no attempted coups at other nonprofits, no banners bearing the seal of the mighty oak's seed raised above the ramparts of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. By all accounts, the organization that shattered in the spring of 2010 remains in pieces.

"And yet.

"On Tuesday, House negotiators unveiled a bill (.pdf) to fend off a looming government shutdown that included the following ominous provision:

""None of the funds made available under this or any other Act, or any prior Appropriations Act, may be provided to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, allied organizations, or successors."

"A mere four months ago, it appeared that the long Republican crusade against ACORN was at an end..."

That's the Cons in general, and here is just one of the ones we know is stupid...or is it crazy?

"Are You Stupid? The Question Darrell Issa Should Ask Himself, Not Jonathan Gruber."

Darrell Issa

"The House oversight Committee held its last hearing with Darrell Issa as chairman today. Next year they will convene with ultra-rightist Jason Chaffetz taking over. The Issa Era has been fraught with partisanship, deceit, arrogance, and bullying. There were incidents where Issa badgered witnesses, insulted colleagues, leaked damaging testimony, and even refused to allow anyone but himself to speak at hearing that he abruptly gaveled to a close after he said his piece.

"The final Issa melodrama featured an appearance by Jonathan Gruber, the MIT economist who so unartfully described the American people as stupid. The hearing had no discernible purpose other than to rake Gruber over the coals for a couple of hours. His contribution to the Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare) was strictly limited to the formation of economic modeling as a tool for members of Congress to draft their legislation. And he was effusively remorseful for his 'glib, thoughtless, and sometimes downright insulting comments,' as one might expect..."

Apparently, mental illness and stupidity are an integral part of the Conservative culture...

And they seem unable to hear common sense messages like this:

And what does that ignorance and nuttiness inability to discern the truth get them? The highest unemployment rate and the lowest levels of education for most all of the stupid and somewhat crazy Conservative Sheeplets, as we see in this meme:

But what is the answer to our question? Maybe one of the Cons can help us figure this out!

"Media: Conservatives 'Crazy,' 'Stupid,' 'Racist' and 'Evil'"

"Conservatives are crazy. Sometimes they're stupid, racist or even evil. On creative occasions they're all four - at least that's how they're portrayed by the American media.

"This election season, journalists have partnered fully with the left to depict conservatives in the most vile ways they can muster. While it's nothing new, the sheer volume of attacks is noteworthy. What's worse is that many are coming from supposedly legitimate news operations.

"Every national conservative politician battles these media characterizations. Ronald Reagan was crazy or stupid, depending on the lefty arguing it or the phases of the moon. Nancy was allegedly the power behind the throne, so she was crazy and evil. President George Bush once ran the CIA - evil. His son, President George W. Bush, managed to be crazy, stupid and evil. (Lefties liked to depict him in Nazi regalia or as a chimp, or both. Conservatives who use identical phrasing or images for Obama are, of course, category four - racists.) Vice President Dick Cheney got the Nancy Reagan treatment - crazy and evil..."

Well, he added the words, "racist" and "evil" and that doesn't help us at all...or does it?

For our newer readers, you can just substitute the word "criminal" for "stupid," "crazy," "racist," or "evil," and you have the best word describing the GOP leadership.

They can be described with the other epithets, of course, but "criminal" belongs exclusively to the Cons and their aristocratic sponsors.

There's only one cure: Criminlize Conservatism.

"I did not mean that Conservatives are generally stupid; I meant, that stupid
persons are generally Conservative. I believe that to be so obvious and
undeniable a fact that I hardly think any hon. Gentleman will question it."

John Stuart Mill, in a Parliamentary debate with the Conservative MP, John
Pakington, May 31, 1866.
