Climate Change Denial And The Future of The Earth

Question: How are all the dead planets in our solar system similar to Earth?
Answer: They all discovered the internal combustion engine.

Man-made climate change may kill us all, but as long as the profits keep rolling in the tool of the rich and powerful (Conservatives) will continue their ways.

"In recent years, weather patterns around the world have grown fiercer than ever. Blizzards paralyze daily life across large areas of the nation, while intense heat waves and enduring droughts cripple food production in the West. Huge storms threaten to sweep away coastal communities. These, and other symptoms of climate disruption, have led to growing recognition that something must be done.

"Yet few know what to do about climate change. Even some who do know don’t act for fear of the consequences of weaning humanity off of fossil fuels. Politicians and vested interests have bombarded the public with the myth that slowing or halting climate change will lead to devastating effects on people, jobs, and nation’s economies.

"It’s time to bust that myth..."

"Natural gas is hemispheric. I like to call it hemispheric in nature because it is a product that we can find in our neighborhoods." ~ George W. Bush

God Created the Earth and All of Nature in it.

Psalms 104:25,30. In wisdom you made them all, the earth is full of your
creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond
number - living things both large and small... When you send your Spirit, they
are created and you renew the earth.

Many ministers preach of the "Stewardship of the Earth," and a few really believe it. But like another oft-used phrase from the pulpit, "Brotherhood of Man," everyone vaguely understands that it has something to do with racial equality, which is okay as long as dark-skinned people stay away, or barring that, at least stay in their place.

Of course, man-made climate change won't affect you...

"Heat Waves!

"You know, those parts of summer you hate? They’ll get worse. Much worse, and they’ll increase in frequency, too. No doubt they’ll last longer while they’re at it. Though that may not pose such a threat to those sucking down energy with their air conditioners, not everyone can afford one. Many living below the poverty wage (an ever-increasing number in America lately) would be left to sweat it out. Let’s face it, eventually box fans are not going to do the trick. More than likely the elderly will be the greatest victims of the heat waves already beating through the windows of many other parts of the country. Record-breaking temperatures are being set regularly in the South and Out West each and every year. Energy consumption is sure to skyrocket, putting more strain on the already troubled environment..."

And here's the "debate..."

(Original article found at Skeptical Raptor's Blog.)

"If you read a news article, Google a scientific topic, or watch TV, you'd think that some scientific principles were actually being debated by scientists. From listening to the screaming and yelling, you would think that scientists aren't sure about evolution, vaccines, global warming, and the age of the earth (or even the age of the universe). There are even those who think there's a debate that HIV doesn't cause AIDS.

"Part of the problem is that some people think that science is unapproachable and too hard to comprehend. It isn't. Now, that doesn't mean it's easy, because it shouldn't be..."

"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it.” ~ Dan Quayle.

But not to worry, what could really go wrong with God's favorite people?

"UN Scientific Panel Releases Report Sounding Alarm On Climate Change Dangers."

"YOKOHAMA, Japan (AP) — If the world doesn't cut pollution of heat-trapping gases, the already noticeable harms of global warming could spiral 'out of control,' the head of a United Nations scientific panel warned Monday.

"And he's not alone. The Obama White House says it is taking this new report as a call for action, with Secretary of State John Kerry saying 'the costs of inaction are catastrophic.'

"Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that issued the 32-volume, 2,610-page report here early Monday, told The Associated Press: 'it is a call for action.' Without reductions in emissions, he said, impacts from warming 'could get out of control...'"

"Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn't even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas.'' ~ Rep. Michelle Bachmann.

And finally, let's take a peak by an expert who is not a scientist...

"Must-See Jon Stewart Roasting Republicans Who Willfully Deny Climate Change."

“People are always complaining that the republican party ignores so-called climate change science, but there is a reason why they refuse to…,” Jon Stewart begins on The Daily Show last week. If you haven’t already heard, republican leaders in the Senate threaten another government shutdown over climate action.

"Watch this hilarious episode showing republicans hearing from their own party why they urge lawmakers to take action on climate change...""The whole [global warming] thing is created to destroy America's free enterprise system and our economic stability." ~ Jerry Falwell

So unlike their support for the American Revolution in a time when it was dangerous to take sides against the English (Conservatives), or even point fingers at subversive Tories (Conservatives) living close by, in today's world where man-made (Conservative-made) climate change is leading to the elimination of man, today's (Conservative) preachers are keeping mum.

But they continually support the Conservative leaders' (criminals') calls for states' rights (racism), gender equality (sexism), and low or no taxes for the rich (capos).

Although no one has started a web site, "Criminalize Christianity," as the waters rise, the world bakes itself to death, and the people understand not only the cause of their doom, but also those who kept silent, they may take the advice attributed to Diderot: "Let us strangle the last king with the guts of the last priest."

(Note: We promised "more of the same" at the end of the post on Hobby Lobby yesterday, but the 'net is glutted with memes, opeds, and stories about the decision so we've decided to take on climate change denial today...Joyce, Jnr.)
